*[Once known for its citrus trade and groves, the city of Rockledge was established in 1887 and is the oldest city in Brevard County. Just south of Cocoa the city was formerly called Rock Ledge due to the rock ledges and coquina rock, which runs along and extended into the Indian River. Today, riverfront homes and condominiums nestled along this same shoreline of the Indian River are brushed by the spectacular Florida sunrises. Custom built homes, lakefront homes, gated communities, condominiums and mature subdivisions are all within easy access to the sandy beaches, rivers and nearby cities and towns in Brevard County.

Since 1941, Wuestoff Medical Center has been supporting the community and providing healthcare to patients in and around the surrounding areas. Wuestoff Health Systems continues to expand and is a leading employer in the medical industry.
Ghosts in Rockledge! Well, Ashleys Restaurant and Bar is believed to be one of Florida’s most haunted places. Locals, restaurant employees, and many paranormal investigators and psychics believe there is truth to the ghostly legends that inhabit the restaurant. There are many books documenting paranormal events and authors interpretations of the ghostly activities but the tales of this quaint, Tudor-style restaurant do not deter visitors and locals from frequenting this favorite dwelling for lunch and dinner dining!

The Rockledge Rotary Club consists of volunteers that discover creative ways to give back to their community. Their annual “Derby Day” Fund-Raising Event raises money for charities to include the Ronald McDonald House, Crosswinds Youth Services and more. The Club also sponsors the fishing pier and boardwalk area in Golfview Park.
There are a number of newer and established, well built parks in the area. The McKnight Family Sports Complex serves as the home of the Rockledge Youth Football League and McClarty Park is the home of the Rockledge Little League Baseball organization. Along with the football, baseball and softball fields, between these two parks there are a multitude of amenities for the community to enjoy. Exercise trails to lighted tennis courts, racquetball & basketball courts, soccer fields, playgrounds and picnic pavilions are all available. Looking for a place for your pets to socialize? The Barks and Recreation Dog Park is located in the 80-acre Anderson Stormwater Park. This beautiful park is complete with nature trails, open space, wildlife observation deck, fishing pier and more. Hike the trail on the western portion of the 140-acre Cruickshank Sanctuary or cycle through Dick Blake Park. Seniors have the option of attending Saturday night dances, taking dance lessons, singing in a choral group, art class, craft group, quilting group, duplicate and party bridge, Pinochle, Canasta, aerobics / exercise, bingo, and more at the Martin Andersen Senior Center. The city of Rockledge has something for everyone.
Need to cool off a bit from the warm summer heat or just want to keep your ice skating or hockey skills up to par, head to the Space Coast IcePlex. The Olympic sized ice surface is used by the Space Coast Rockets travel hockey team, youth, adult and sled hockey as well as public skate sessions and top of the line skate academy. The IcePlex is a proud member of the US Figure Skating, USA Hockey and STAR (Serving The American Rinks) national organizations. Located inside the facility there is a dance studio, fitness center, pro shop and grand stand seating. After all that skating, grab some fresh squeezed Florida orange juice, or a variety of grapefruit, tangerines or oranges from Harvey’s Indian River Groves Retail Store on US Highway 1. The store is seasonal so be sure to check store hours!
